The lawyers fraternity on Friday challenged in Sindh High Court the notification issued regarding appointment of the judges by Sindh Public Service Commission, said Rasheed Rizvi, president of Sindh High Court Bar Association.
He was addressing a Press conference at SHCBA office. Lawyers’ representatives including Hanif Bhatti, Khalid Mumtaz, Mehmoodul Hassan, Kh Mansoor, Mohammad Aqil were also present on the occasion. The news conference was held following the joint meeting of Sindh High Court Bar Association and Karachi Bar Association.Rizvi condemned the amendment to the constitution under which the judges will be appointed after the exams to be held by Public Service Commission Sindh. The government had issued the notification in this regard in the first week of December.
The President SHCBA said if the amendment was implemented the judiciary would start functioning under the executive, and would suffer badly.
